NTSE Sample Papers should be your first tool to prepare for NTSE written tests - both at state level as well as at national level. However, from this year onwards (i.e. NTSE 2013), this test is being organised for Class-10 students instead of Class-8 as in previous years. NTSE prep materials (i.e. Sample Papers & Books) currently available both in the market and on the net is still for Class-8.
NCERT has announced exam notification for NTSE 2013 barely few days back and slowly I expect the materials to be available both in the net as well as in book stores. I will be on the lookout for these NTSE exam papers and books for Class-10 and would post them here as and when I spot them.
Meanwhile, I am posting the links below which you can lookout in the future for arrival of the NTSE 2013 (Class-10) sample paper & books. But before that, you should know the exam pattern/format of NTSE - NTSE has two parts:

Look out for most authentic NTSE sample paper from NCERT just like this NTSE exam paper for Class-8. NCERT is expected to upload a similar "Learn about NTSE" sample exam paper for Class-10 in its website. I will also update this blog when the NTSE exam paper for Class-10 appears.
This NTSE sample paper gives you 15 questions on Mental Ability Test (MAT) and 39 questions on Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) - (15 questions on Social Sciences, 15 questions on Science and 9 questions on Mathematics). From these questions, you can find the question pattern/standard of NTSE exam.

This is the online version of NTSE guide book by TMH. As is with other books by TMH, it is an excellent source for NTSE sample questions. Although this book is meant for Class-8, you can still use the MAT section of the book, which has been lucidly explained.

You have to take the tests online, after a free registration. The tests are timed and hence is a good way of measuring how fast and accurately you can answer those NTSE questions.
This is a very good solved sample paper on NTSE exam – giving you total 268 questions 9MAT: 48 & SAT: 220 questions). You can still use the MAT portion, although SAT portion of this paper is no longer useful, as it was for Class-8.
